Hans van der Zanden, solo horn with the Brussels Philharmonic, is considered one of the leading trumpet players in Europe today. After graduating from the conservatory, he was invited as a soloist to the Berlin Chamber Orchestra (Neues Berliner Kammerorchester), conducted by Jac van Steen, where he brilliantly started his solo career playing with trumpeters such as Sarah Willis (Berlin Philharmonic) and Bodo Werner ( Berlin Comic Opera).
Hans van der Zanden is also a successful soloist. He recently performed Haydn’s Concerto for Two Horns and Orchestra with the Hamburger Camerata, Schumann’s Konzertstück op.84 for four horns and orchestra with the Collegium Musicum Düsseldorf and Britten’s Serenade op.31 for tenor, horn and strings with the Orchestra. of Novosibirsk Chamber. He was a guest soloist at a ‘Holland-Russia Festival’ with the Chelyabinsk Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anton Grishanin. During this festival, Hans van der Zanden performed Mozart’s Horn Concerto KV417 and Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 op.11.
